USil scientists in the advisory team for the ‘Science for Society’ and ‘Science for Society II’ programmes

Rafał Glajcar, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. and Robert Pyka, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia became members of the advisory teams for the ‘Science for Society’ and ‘Science for Society II’ programmes.

The programme includes funding for research projects. It consists of four areas:

  • research excellence,
  • science for innovation,
  • humanities – society – identity,
  • physical culture for an active and healthy society (new area in the announcement establishing the ‘Science for Society II’ programme).

The main goal of the programme is to support entities of the higher education and science, as well as other organisational units working to disseminate science, including in the field of building cooperation with the socio-economic sector, developing and implementing solutions serving local and regional communities, and creating theoretical models covering social issues.

The results of the 2023 call for applications show great interest in the programme. As many as 589 applications were submitted, of which 227 projects received funding for a total amount of over PLN 211 million.

A new call for applications is planned for the first quarter of 2025.
