Orientation Week for international students

Orientation Week for international students has started on September 25th in Sosnowiec, at the Faculty of Philology building. Students taking part in the Orientation Week are starting free studies in Polish. This is the first edition of newly initiated competition thatensures free studies for candidates from non-EU countries.


The offer was open to non-EU candidates whose competence in the Polish language was sufficient to take up studies taught in Polish. Admission was based on a secondary school certificate/diploma competition and Polish language exam.


50 students has been accepted for different programmes for the 2012/2013 academic year, both at the bachelor and master levels.

On Tuesday, September 25th, Orientation Week was officially open by Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Institutional Affairs and Public Relations, prof. Mirosław Nakonieczny, and prof. Jolanta Tambor, director of the School of Polish Language and Culture.


During the orientation week new students will get to know how to use on-line registration system, library etc. Participants have a chance to meet representatives of the School of Polish Language and Culture, Career’s Centre, Students’ Service Centre and Police.
