Prof. Ewa Jarosz appointed to the Team for the Analysis of Incidents

On 25 April 2024, Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar appointed six people to the Team for the Analysis of Incidents Resulting in the Death or Grievous Bodily Harm of a Minor. Among the members appointed is Prof. Ewa Jarosz from the University of Silesia in Katowice.

The task of the team is to evaluate incidents resulting in the death or grievous bodily harm of a minor when there is justified suspicion or it was proven that the parent or guardian (legal or actual) committed a prohibited act specified in the Penal Code to the detriment of the child.  Members are also tasked with searching for solutions to reduce the occurrence of such situations in the future.

Prof. Ewa Jarosz is an educator and academic associated with the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia. She is also the Vice-Rector for Staff Development at the University of Silesia. From 2011 to 2018 she was a public advisor to the Children Rights Ombundsman on the prevention of child abuse. She has been cooperating with child abuse prevention NGO’s for many years.
