The Ministry of Climate and Environment has established the State Council for Nature Protection. One of the members of the body is Prof. Piotr Skubała from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
The tasks of the newly established council will include, among others: assessing the implementation of the Nature Protection Act and the programme for the protection and sustainable use of biological diversity, giving opinions on strategies, plans and legal acts, as well as communicating issues related to environmental protection.
Prof. Piotr Skubała is an ecologist, climate activist, nature conservationist and science communicator. He serves as an ethical expert at the European Commission and the National Science Centre. He organises and co-hosts meetings of the Ecological Thought Club.
