Wojciech Murdzek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, has appointed twelve new members of the Board of the National Science Centre. One of them is Prof. Robert Hasterok from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice.
The goal of the Board of the National Science Centre, which consists of twenty-four scientists representing various scientific disciplines, is e.g. to define the priority areas of basic research and terms for running competitions for research projects, determine the amount of funds allocated for this research, as well as select the experts to assess the applications submitted in the competitions.
Prof. Jerzy Łuczka from the Faculty of Science and Technology is another member of the Board.
The term of new members begins on 15 December 2020 and lasts four years.
