The University of Silesia Choir ‘Harmonia’, directed by Prof. Joanna Glenc from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science, took part in the prestigious International Choir Competition MUNDI CANTANT as part of the 52nd International Festival of Songs Olomouc 2025 in Czechia.
It is one of the oldest music festivals in Europe, promoting and popularising choral art. This year it took place on 5–8 June 2025. The numerous participating ensembles from all over the world represented various performance categories. The organisers offered participants an accompanying programme including concerts, workshops and master classes led by experts in the field of choral singing.
The University of Silesia Choir ‘Harmonia’ had the opportunity to present its repertoire in the Moravian Philharmonic Concert Hall Reduta in Olomouc. The ensemble took home the silver medal in the category ‘A5 – Adult choirs mixed’.
