On 17 February 2023, at the Panteon Górnośląski (Upper Silesian Pantheon) in Katowice, the awarding ceremony of the 47th Silesian Juliusz Ligoń Award was held. The honorees included Dagmara Drzazga, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor from the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice.

The lecturer was awarded for her entire film work, in particular for commemorating the figure of blessed Rev. Jan Macha in the film „Bez jednego drzewa las lasem zostanie” (“A forest will remain a forest, even if it lacks a single tree”) (2011). Her achievements include a total of eight films about Silesia.

The jury awarding the award included: Rev. Arkadiusz Wuwer, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Theology of the University of Silesia, and Marek Rembierz, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science of the University of Silesia, who gave the laudation before granting the award to Dagmara Drzazga.

The Juliusz Ligoń Silesian Award is granted by the Catholic Association “Civitas Christiana” to those people and institutions that have particularly contributed to Silesia, acting as its ambassadors.
