The Silesian Scientific Award will be presented as part of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE once again. The award is presented to researchers and artists, who substantially contribute to the development of science, possess remarkable artistic achievements, and promote Silesian science both nationally and internationally. The award may be granted for overall, lifetime achievements, or for achievements accomplished within two years preceding the year in which the award is presented.
All universities co-organising the ŚFN are involved in presenting this prestigious award. Each university nominates candidates from employees and doctoral students in accordance with its own internal procedure, and the winners are selected by the Award Committee composed of representatives of the universities co-organising the ŚFN. This year, Prof. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk, Vice-Rector for Science and Development of the Silesian University of Technology chairs the Award Committee.
For the first time, candidates from the University of Silesia may apply either individually or be entered by third parties. We encourage all employees and doctoral students to register. You can apply until 31 May 2021.
