Faculty of Science and Technology in a nutshell. 5 reasons (out of many more) that will convince you it’s worth it!
You choose the route. We provide a map and signposts
Forget about rigid frameworks. With us, you decide the direction of your development. Thanks to a flexible study programme with a wide range of modules (degree programme-specific, field-specific and concerning general university education), you can tailor your studies to your interests and career plans.
Theory? Important. Practise? From the get-go! Immerse yourself in research from the first semester
From the first year of your studies, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in scientific research. Get involved in research projects and join dynamic scientific teams. Moreover, we are famous for our individual approach to Bachelor’s and Master’s theses—all of them are research works.
Laboratories of the future? We are building them today
We are just beginning construction of the Silesian Interdisciplinary Centre for Chemistry—a state-of-the-art facility where you will find fully equipped chemical laboratories, computer labs, and research and teaching spaces.
Don’t just learn about the industry—become a part of it before you even graduate.
Getting to know the world you are interested in from the inside is extremely important. Our close cooperation with the socio-economic environment ensures that you will acquire skills valued in the job market and establish valuable contacts even before you graduate. Our partners include Kompania Piwowarska, the Institute of Forensic Research in Krakow, and the Waste Disposal Plant.
The world of science is opening right in front of you
You think globally? So do we! We cooperate nationally and internationally with the best research centres, such as CERN – European Organization for Nuclear Research.

Typically, university studies are associated with two levels of education:
- 1st cycle – Bachelor’s degree studies, lasting 3 years,
- 2nd cycle – Master’s degree studies, lasting 2 years.
A graduate completing the first cycle of education receives a Bachelor’s degree, and by completing the second cycle, they become a Master’s degree holder. Of course, provided that the defence of the diploma thesis is successful.
In addition to this path, some degree programmes at our faculty allow you to obtain the title of engineer. These programmes include:
- Medical Physics,
- Biomedical Engineering,
- Materials Science and Engineering,
- Mechatronics,
- Computer Science,
- Applied Computer Science,
- Chemical Technology,
- Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
In these degree programmes, the first cycle of studies lasts 3.5 years—this is the stage after which you can obtain the title of engineer. Then, the second cycle awaits you, which lasts 1.5 years and allows you to obtain a Master’s degree.
Your career starts here
Graduates of the Faculty of Science and Technology are not only people with Bachelor’s, Master’s or engineering degrees—they are specialists with specific skills sought after on the job market. Our degree programmes open the door to careers in dynamically developing industries, giving you a chance to have real impact on the world around you. Be prepared for your knowledge, passion and skills to be worth their weight in gold.
- Graduates of our faculty find work in, among others, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. They test drugs and cosmetics, and also work on creating new products. Additionally, they are well-suited to quality control laboratories and the implementation of production processes.
- There are also great opportunities for… criminology fans. One of the specialisations in the second-cycle studies is Forensic Chemistry, which provides knowledge on, among other things, how to analyse evidence in forensic laboratories and how to conduct chemical expertise for the justice system.
- Completing a relevant degree programme at the Faculty of Science and Technology also enables work related to environmental protection in its broadest sense. You will be able to advise on sustainable development and green chemistry, work in water and sanitation laboratories, and analyse environmental contamination.
- Additionally, graduates of our faculty pursue their ambitions by taking part in research projects at scientific institutes or by establishing their own companies. They also act as experts in interdisciplinary teams, work in prestigious industrial plants and design offices, and are associated with the IT industry. Many of them continue their adventure with education, undertaking doctoral studies or working in schools and centres promoting science.
As you can see, the possibilities are endless.
Which direction do you want to go? Join us and forge your own path.
