The Silesian Voivodeship Office has announced that a test of the emergency sirens used in the public warning and alert system will be conducted in the city of Katowice on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
As part of the test, a continuous siren sound will be emitted for three minutes, signifying the cancellation of the alarm. The test, organised by the Katowice City Council, is intended not only to check the effectiveness of the system, but also to commemorate the victims of the pacification of the ‘Wujek’ coal mine.
