University of Silesia at the educational fairs in Brazil

Between 16th and 26th March 2014, dr Aleksandra Achtelik, deputy director of the School of Polish Language and Culture and mgr Agnieszka Tambor from the Institute of Polish Literature of the University of Silesia will participate in the educational fair “Salão do Estudante” in Brazil, organized by the Polish Embassy in Brazil and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland.

Dr Aleksandra Achtelik and mgr Agnieszka Tambor will represent our University during the official meetings with authorities of the Federal University of Paraná in Curitiba – our partner institution through bilateral agreement from 2 years and the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná. During the visit they will take part in meetings with Polish communities in Brazil.

Representatives of the University of Silesia will encourage Brazilian citizens to study at the University of Silesia, and motivate them to learn the Polish language. Dr Aleksandra Achtelik will conduct seminars about Polish as a foreign language and mgr Agnieszka Tambor will present lectures about contemporary Polish movies.

The participants of the International Language Fairs “Salão do Estudante” will have a chance to take part in the student lottery “Enjoy Poland!” The main prize is participation – free of charge – in the 14th Summer School of Polish Language, Literature and Culture, organized by the School of Polish Language and Culture of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn (August 2014), funded by the Rector of the University of Silesia, prof. zw. dr. hab. Wiesław Banyś.
