The University of Silesia in Katowice once again placed first among all Silesian universities in the latest edition of The Nature Index 2024 Research Leaders (previously known as Nature Index Annual Tables).
Particularly noteworthy is the fact that we moved up from 14th to 6th (!) place in the national ranking regarding biological sciences. This is also the highest place in this field of all universities in the region. We can also be proud of winning 1st place among universities in the Silesian Voivodeship in the subjects of chemical sciences and physical sciences, as well as in the journal group of natural sciences.
Our university placed 10 in the general ranking of Polish higher education institutions.
Nature Index is an open database of authors’ affiliation and institutional relations, which monitors scientific articles in exact sciences, natural sciences, and health sciences published in prestigious journals selected by an independent group of researchers.
The Nature Index 2024 Research Leaders concerns the time frame from 1 January to 31 December. The ranking is available at https://www.nature.com/nature-index/research-leaders/2024/institution/all/all/all.
