The University of Silesia in Katowice was ranked in the QS World University Rankings 2025 among the 1503 best universities in the world, featuring 22 best universities in Poland. Moreover, only two universities in the Silesian Voivodeship have been acknowledged in the ranking: the University of Silesia and the Silesian University of Technology. This year’s ranking covers over 5,500 institutions.
The individual criteria considered a university’s prestige, scientific achievements, teaching activities, domestic and international cooperation, as well as its reputation among employers or achievements in terms of sustainable development. Particularly noteworthy is the place the University was ranked in the International Research Network criterion.
The QS World University Rankings 2025 is one of the four most significant global university rankings. More and more universities are being evaluated each year, increasing therefore the ranking’s competition.
