New project under way in the College of General University Education: Teaching excellence community – supportive evaluation and modern education at the University of Silesia in Katowice

We are pleased to inform you, along with the new semester of the academic year 2025/2026, for the past few weeks, the College of General University Education has been working on a new project aimed at strengthening the teaching competencies of teachers, especially with regard to the use of modern technology in the teaching process, as well as at promoting educational intermentoring. The project also includes work on a comprehensive, fair and user-friendly system for evaluating academic teaching, as well as support for individuals preparing doctoral dissertations in the field of academic teaching and scientific and teaching entrepreneurship.

A key element is also the preparation of a learning laboratory with the following zones:

  1. audio-visual experimentation zone (recording studio),
  2. generative technology zone (AI tool space),
  3. a creative collaboration zone (coworking space).

In these spaces, teachers will be able to use modern equipment and software to prepare teaching materials and discuss the best possible solutions for academic methodology.

The project is being implemented at the College of General University Education and coordinated by Katarzyna Trynda, PhD, Assoc. Prof. (project coordinator) and  Katarzyna Sujkowska, PhD, Assoc. Prof. (deputy project coordinator).

Project FERS.01.05-IP.08-0188/25 implemented under the programme:
European Funds for Social Development received PLN 1,856,186 in funding.
