International cooperation
The internationalization of scientific, research and educational activities is one of major directions of the University of Silesia’s activity. As an active participant in international academic life, the University of Silesia makes every effort to establish effective and long-term relations with foreign partners, including higher education institutions, research centres, enterprises as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations. The University has concluded over 900 bilateral agreements with foreign institutions from over 90 countries. The concluded agreements enable the exchange of students and academic staff, as well as joint research and educational projects.
Cooperation undertaken within the framework of international research projects includes joint scientific research and dissemination of its results through organisation of seminars and conferences, as well as publishing activity. Researchers benefit from scholarships and internships in prestigious research centres around the world, which greatly influences their scientific career development.
The number of foreigners enrolled in full-time studies is also an important factor contributing to internationalisation of our University. In cooperation with foreign partners, the University of Silesia organises programmes whose graduates obtain double diplomas.
