dr Michał Kisiel – literaturoznawca, anglista, redaktor, tłumacz, adiunkt w Instytucie Literaturoznawstwa. W 2019 uzyskałem stopień doktora nauk humanistycznych w dyscyplinie literaturoznawstwo na podstawie dysertacji Prismatic Theatres. Towards New Materialist Readings of Samuel Beckett and Tadeusz Kantor (promotor: prof. em. dr hab. Wojciech Kalaga). Jestem autorem dwóch monografii oraz ponad trzydziestu publikacji naukowych oraz popularnonaukowych z zakresu historii literatur anglojęzycznych, literatury porównawczej, posthumanizmu, związków literaturoznawstwa oraz filozofii, dekonstrukcji, humanistyki środowiskowej, poezji najnowszej oraz dramatu i teatru XX wieku. Jestem członkiem redakcji czasopism „Er(r)go: Teoria – Literatura – Kultura” oraz „Fabrica Litterarum Polono-Italica”, a także członkiem Komisji Historycznoliterackiej Polskiej Akademii Nauk (oddział w Katowicach). Jestem zapalonym entuzjastą gier planszowych, gitary basowej oraz obserwowania ptaków. W dobie streamingu, wciąż nałogowo kolekcjonuję płyty.

Michał Kisiel, PhD – assistant professor, literary scholar in English literature and culture, editor, translator. In 2019, I defended my PhD thesis in literary studies entitled Prismatic Theatres. Towards New Materialist Readings of Samuel Beckett and Tadeusz Kantor (thesis advisor: prof. Wojciech Kalaga). I have published two books and over thirty articles dedicated – but not limited – to literary theory, history of literatures in English, comparative literatures, posthumanism, deconstruction, environmental humanities, 20th century drama and theatre, and contemporary poetry. I am an editorial member of Er(r)go: Theory – Literature – Culture and Fabrica Litterarum Polono-Italica, and a member of Polish Academy of Sciences Commission on Literary History (Katowice Branch). Aside from being an academic, I am a boardgame geek, music nerd, birdwatcher, and amateur bassist. In the age of streaming, I still amass CDs and vinyl records.
