Ur. 1971, absolwent Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego w Krakowie, doktorat na Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim. W swoich badaniach skupia się na analizowaniu zjawisk artystycznych w kontekście konfesyjnym i narodowym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem sztuki Górnego Śląska w XVI-XX w.
Podejmuje problemy wykorzystania medium sztuki i dziedzictwa kulturowego w dyskursywnym kreowaniu wspólnot wyobrażonych oraz relacji między sztuką a pamięcią zbiorową.
