The results of the election to Rada Doskonałości Naukowej (RDN, Council of Scientific Excellence) were published on 6 October 2023. A number of University of Silesia in Katowice representatives will be members of RDN for its second term:
- Prof. Dariusz Pawelec (humanities, Polish studies),
- Prof. Artur Rejter (humanities, linguistics),
- Prof. Adam Dziadek (humanities, literary studies),
- Prof. Kazimierz Wolny-Zmorzyński (social sciences, communication and media studies).
The term of the newly appointed members lasts from 2024 to 2027.
RDN was appointed in 2018. Its goal is to ensure the development of research staff in accordance with the highest quality standards of scientific activities required to obtain scientific degrees, art degrees and professor titles. The first term of RDN began on 1 June 2019. Two representatives of UŚ, Prof. Artur Rejter and Prof. Eng. Tomasz Szarek, were appointed for the council back then.
