The project VINCI Dive into Science – Interdisciplinary International Silesian Summer School.


To apply for the VINCI Summer School, you must fill out the recruitment form. Our Summer School gives students from around the world the opportunity to explore a subject of interest in small groups and participation in the work with scientific teams. We are looking for students who have completed at least one year of studies in the case of first-cycle studies or are pursuing second-cycle studies. The studies’ topic should be included in our four disciplines: computer science, chemical sciences, physical sciences, or materials engineering, during the recruitment which will choose 22 students (5 places for the discipline of physics; 6 places for the discipline of chemistry, 5 places for the discipline of computer science; 6 places for the discipline of materials science and engineering). The candidate may participate in the recruitment process only in one selected discipline. During the recruitment process, the candidate should choose only one discipline.

Evaluation criteria for candidates:

Formal criterion

A person (a foreigner) who has completed at least one year of studies in the case of first-cycle studies or is pursuing second-cycle studies (computer science, chemical sciences, physical sciences, or materials science and engineering) may apply. The criterion will be verified according to a certificate from the candidate’s home university

Eligibility criteria

  • grade point average for all completed semesters of study higher than 3.0. This criterion will be verified according to a certificate from the candidate’s home university, attached to the recruitment form in pdf format;
  • a written justification for the selection of the research topic. This criterion will be verified according to the information provided by the candidate in the recruitment form;
  • knowledge of the English language enabling active and effective participation in the Summer School. This criterion will be verified according to the declaration submitted by the candidate in the recruitment form.

Additional criteria

  • grade point average for all completed semesters of study (weight 0.6);
  • the highest number of completed semesters of study. This criterion will be verified according to a certificate from the candidate’s home university, attached to the application form in pdf format (weight 0.3);
  • one recommendation from a research employee of the home university. This criterion will be verified according to a recommendation attached as a pdf file.
