You are invited to attend an Open Dual Lecture entitled “Wood pellets – the future of the energy market?”, organized within the framework of the Transform4Europe project.
The guests of the event will be:
Agnieszka Drobniak, Ph.D. – researcher in the field of Earth and environmental science, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Silesia in Katowice.
Lyubomir Kostov – graduate in chemistry, working with Veolia Energy Varna, Bulgaria
Dr. Agnieszka Drobniak in her presentation will talk about history of using wood pellets as a source of energy, concerns regarding pellet fuels quality and pros and cons of using biomass for energy purposes.
On the entrepreneurial side, Lyubomir Kostov from Veolia Energy Varna will show his perspective and talk about the future and use of biomass in Bulgaria. He will answer the question of how attitudes towards the biomass market in Bulgaria are changing in terms of power plants as well as individual households, and whether cooperation with science in this area is a good direction.
The moderator will be Iwona Jelonek, Ph.D., professor of the University of Silesia, director of the Centre for Biomass Energy Research and Education, researcher at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The lecture will be held at RawaInk, 17 a Teatralna St., Katowice, on December 14, 2022, from 17:00 – 18:30.
