2012 Summer School of Polish Language, Literature and Culture in Cieszyn

22nd edition of the Summer School of Polish Language, Literature and Culture will take place in Cieszyn from 29th July to 25th August 2012. Nearly 200 people from 27 countries will participate in 80 hours of Polish language lessons, as well as in many extracurricular activities.


All School participants take part in a placement test to estimate each participant’s language level and assign them to proper study groups. The School issues certificates according to the results of the test and gives credit points for attending the language course.


Summer School provides not only regular Polish language lesson, but also other learning possibilities, like language games, students’ theatre in Polish, “Polish life and Culture” seminar, Foreign Master of Polish Language competition,  and many others. Students do have a chance to check their language progress during a specially designed Polish language spelling test.


Organizers prepared a great deal of other attractions like Polish films’ presentations, fascinating excursions, concerts and meetings with interesting people. The excursions include trips to Cracow, Beskidy mountains, Upper Silesia, Oświęcim, Pszczyna, Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska, as well as sightseeing tour in Cieszyn.


One of the main events during Summer School in Cieszyn is Evening of Nations, during which participants present characteristic elements of cultures they come from. It is always a great feast, open also for the inhabitants of Cieszyn, that often take an active part in celebrations.


Among Summer School participants there are students from all over the world, i.a.: Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, France, Serbia, United Kingdom, USA. It is especially popular among students from China and Japan, who wish to study in Poland.


Summer School in Cieszyn is organized by The School of Polish Language and Culture.
