[[{“type”:”media”,”view_mode”:”media_preview”,”fid”:”91″,”attributes”:{“alt”:” “,”class”:”media-image”,”style”:”float: left; margin-right: 0.5em;”}}]]On 28 January 2011 the Council of the European University Association (EUA), following recommendations of the Nominations Committee, proposed a list of 7 candidates to replace four outgoing EUA Board members and serve for a period of four years 2011-2015.
Among the candidates is His Magnificence Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice Prof. zw. dr hab. Wiesław Banyś, President of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities.
Pursuant to the EUA’s statute, Board members are elected every two years.
The European University Association represents and supports higher education institutions in 46 countries. The Organisation was established in 2001 as a result of a merger between two entities: the Association of European Universities (CRE) and the Confederation of European Union Rectors’ Conferences (CEURC).
