Mirosław Pawełczyk, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. as an arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport of the Polish Olympic Committee

Mirosław Pawełczyk, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. (Director of the Research Centre for Public Competition Law and Sector Regulation and leader of the Public Economic Law Research Team) was once again chosen as an arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport of the Polish Olympic Committee. The current, 9th term covers the years 2024-2027.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport of the Polish Olympic Committee began its operations on 17 November 1994. Its structure and functioning were based on the model of the Court of Arbitration for Sport based in Lausanne. The Court is the highest sports appeal instance in Poland, operating under the Sports Act of 25 June 2010. It resolves disputes arising from appeals against final disciplinary decisions of the Polish Sports Associations, and also acts as a permanent arbitration court under the principles set out in the Code of Civil Procedure.

The Court consists of 24 arbitrators appointed by the Management Board of the Polish Olympic Committee for a 4-year term of office.
