Prof. Robert Pyka awarded with the Order of Academic Palms

Robert Pyka, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice was awarded the Order of Academic Palms – one of the most prestigious distinctions granted by the prime minister of France.

The official award ceremony took place on 14 June 2024 in Sigmund’s Hall at the Wawel Royal Castle. The order was presented by Cedric Peltier – Consul General of France in Kraków.

The Order of Academic Palms is a French state distinction granted to outstanding scientists, established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1808. The distinction given to Professor Robert Pyka constitutes recognition of his more than 20 years of academic work and social activity, which contributes significantly to deepening cooperation between Poland and France.
