Professor Gertruda Uścińska, a graduate of the University of Silesia, took part in the World Social Security Forum, organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), where she was re-elected for a three-year period as a member of the ISSA Office. The tasks carried out in this unit include setting priorities for the organization, overseeing the implementation of the activities, budget implementation and the activities of technical committees, among others.

Concurrently, by decision of the members of the Office Professor Gertruda Uścińska was elected chairwoman of the Steering Committee of the ISSA Technical Committee for insurance against old age, incapacity for work and death of the host (TC Pensions), which is the most important among 13 Committees established under ISSA. Its task is to develop solutions that respond to the challenges of aging societies and new social expectations towards a state. In addition, by decision of the European members of the ISSA Board Office, she was elected a member of the Steering Committee of the European ISSA Network (IEN), whose goal is to support the activities of the organization at a regional level.

Professor Uścińska is the first Polish woman appointed to be in charge of the most important area of social security, especially pension issues, on an international scale. Currently, he is the president of the Polish Social Insurance Institution.

The event lasted from October 14 to October 16, 2019 in Brussels. ISSA is an organization of 350 national social security institutions from over 150 countries, whose aim is to promote the highest administrative standards.
