On 7 February 2011 a Polish language course commenced for international Erasmus students who are taking up study at the University of Silesia in the summer semester. The course will be conducted by the School of Polish Language and Culture at the University of Silesia.
Students from Turkey, Spain, Latvia, France and Slovakia will spend a week learning the basics of Polish. They will learn structures necessary to handle simple communication situations. Additionally, the School of Polish Language and Culture has prepared for them an interesting cultural programme. The students will take part in classes devoted to the history of Poland and Silesian traditions. They will also be given a tour of Katowice and Krakow, and will visit the Silesian Library.
