By decision of Prof. Piotr Gliński, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Library of the University of Silesia has been included in the Polish nationwide library network. The application has been positively evaluated by the relevant department and National Library.
The goal of the Polish nationwide network of libraries is to maintain uniform library and information activities. The libraries associated in the network cooperate in the field of gathering, developing, storing and sharing collections, drawing up and distributing information on bibliography and documentation, science and research activities, educating and providing professional training for library staff, as well as exchanging and distributing library materials and information. The network consists of public libraries and other libraries included by decision of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
