DS1 Student Residence Hall – dormitory

Accessibility of the entrance to the building and control area

The entrance to the Student Residence Hall building is marked with a red board with the inscription saying ‘Dom Studenta nr 1’ [Student Residence Hall no. 1].

The entrance to the dormitory is situated on the side of the bus stop. There is a pavement leading to it.

There is a ramp with handrails near the main entrance to the student residence hall. In the place of the entrance to the ramp, the sidewalk was lowered with a curb ramp. The doorbell is installed at the entrance door, at a height of approximately 1 m.

Upon entering the building, we are at the ‘lower ground floor’ level.

The reception desk (open 24/7) is located 1.5 metres from the main entrance on the lower ground floor.

The stair platform is installed at the ‘lower ground floor’ and leads only to the level of the higher floor.

Accessibility of corridors, stairs and lifts

The corridors are 2 m wide.

Vertical communication in the building is carried out through 3 staircases (one of the staircases is used only for evacuation during danger). The building has two wings: lower and higher and five storeys. The higher part is available in its entirety. The lower part houses the Egida Student Radio, the office, and the storage room. Access to this area is partly restricted. Persons with mobility impairments are able to enter by means of a stair platform from the ‘lower ground floor’ level, to the ‘upper ground floor’ level only.

Types of adjustments inside the building

On the lower ground floor, there is a toilet adapted for the needs of people with disabilities.

The sanitary room consisting of a toilet and washbasin is available for individuals in a wheelchair. The grab bars are installed and the manoeuvring space has been secured.

Parking places designated for persons with disabilities and exploitation thereof

There is a parking space for people with disabilities in the immediate vicinity of the building.

The blue parking spaces can only be used by the individuals authorised on general terms specified in the provisions concerning the parking card for people with disabilities.
