A delegation from Baku Slavic University visits University of Silesia in Katowice

A delegation from Baku Slavic University – a university specialising in the study of the languages, culture, history, geography, and political systems of Eastern and Western Europe, the Balkans, Central Asia, and the Caspian region – visited University of Silesia in Katowice on Tuesday, 19 May.

The meeting marked another stage in the cooperation between the University of Silesia in Katowice and Baku Slavic University. In February 2026, the two institutions signed a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting interest in the teaching and research activities of their respective faculties, collaborating on joint research projects, and encouraging the exchange of academic and administrative staff, as well as students. During the meeting, the participants discussed planned forms of cooperation, including collaboration in the field of Polish language teaching.

Representing Baku Slavic University at the meeting were Vice-Rector Aytan Bayramova, Vice-Dean Samira Abdullayeva, and Director of the Rector’s Office Gulnara Ganiyeva. Representing the University of Silesia in Katowice were Rector Ryszard Koziołek, Jolanta Tambor, Agnieszka Tambor, and Emilia Rekosz-Cebula.
