Maciej Kurcz, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor as the Chair of the PAS Committee on African Studies

Maciej Kurcz, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor became the Chair of the PAS Committee on African Studies established as part of the Committee on Ethnological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The newly formed committee brings together Polish Africanists, ethnologists, anthropologists, and ethnographers. It is tasked with popularising and opinion-forming activities concerning Africa.

Maciej Kurcz, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor is the Deputy Director of the Institute of Culture Studies of the University of Silesia in Katowice. His research interests include ethnological issues of countries of the Global South (particularly Sudan and South Sudan), urban African anthropology, and ethnoarchaeology.
