Dr Olga B. Koper – from diploma of the University of Silesia to White House’s Award

From 11th to 13th March 2014 the community of the University of Silesia had a great pleasure to host a honorary guest – dr Olga B. Koper, who is a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of our University.  Dr Olga B. Koper is developing her scientific career in the United States of America for many years – as a Chief Technical Officer and Vice President of NanoScale Corporation (a spin-off of Kansas State University) and laureate of White House’s Award: Champions of Change  –   Immigrant Innovator.

During the stay in Poland, at the University of Silesia, our honorary guest shared her scientific experiences with academic community.

On 11th March dr Olga B. Koper had a lecture in the Scientific Information Centre and Academic Library (CINiBA) under the title “My adventure with nanotechnology:  from diploma of the University of Silesia to White House’s Award for Immigrant Innovator”.

Between 12th and 13th March in the Silesian Interdisciplinary Centre for Education and Research in Chorzow dr Olga B. Koper took part in the conference and lecture “From laboratory to industry – example of the commercialization of nanotechnology in USA”.

During all the meetings dr Olga B. Koper was accompanied by dr hab. Mirosław Nakonieczny, Vice-Rector of the University of Silesia for Internationalisation, Institutional Affairs and Public Relations.
