The Gala of the Award of the Mayor of the City of Katowice in Sports for 2023 took place on 14 March 2024 at the Youth Palace.
One of the winners in the category of the best team was the University Sports Association team of the University of Silesia. The award was given for winning the U17 Poland Youth Championship in futsal.
The Awards of the Mayor of the City of Katowice in sports have been awarded since 2003. It is an opportunity to acknowledge and honour sportspeople for their amazing results in national and international competitions as well as coaches and sports activists for their input in sports development in Katowice. Sportspeople are awarded in categories of the Best Sportsperson of Katowice and Sporting Hope of Katowice. There are also awards for teams for their outstanding results in a given discipline.
