Open days at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science

On 7 March 2023, the open days of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science of the University of Silesia begin. On selected days, individual institutes will present their educational offer to university candidates.

Institute of Pedagogy

On Tuesday, 7 March, the Institute of Pedagogy will host workshops on creative problem solving and decision making, led by Katarzyna Jas, PhD. The maximum number of meeting participants is 20 people.

Institute of Fine Arts

On Wednesday, 8 March, at the Institute, you will be able to participate in the presentations of the studios, as well as take part in individual consultations of artistic works with researchers from the University of Silesia. Those interested can listen to an open lecture by Katarzyna Hilszczańska, PhD, Assoc. Prof., ‘Naziści, yakuza i dziara – czyli co wiesz o tatuażu’ [‘Nazis, yakuza and ink – what do you know about tattoos’]. As part of the open days, you will also be able to attend the presentation of the Games and Virtual Reality Design degree programme.

Institute of Music

On Thursday, 9 March, participants of the open days will be able to take part in a concert, vocal, music and movement workshops and a lecture by Dariusz Górniok, PhD ‘Be cool jak jazz? Co to???’ [‘Be cool like jazz? What’s that???’]. Those interested will be able to join the tour of the Institute of Music, which will include the recording studio and the campus in Cieszyn.

In addition, on 7-9 March, Socio-Cultural Animation with Cultural Education as well as Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology degree programmes will be presented. The organisers have prepared numerous workshops for the participants to familiarise themselves with the cultures and traditions of communities from around the world.
