Discussion on how to study smarter not harder

The educational space constantly requires asking questions regarding the point of education, the student model, and the teacher profile. We would like to reflect and give privileges to especially two of them: what is studying all about, and how to study smarter not harder.

The College of Individual Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Silesia invites students, teachers, educationalists and parents to a mutual debate about: A jeśli nie trzeba uczyć… [What if we don’t need to learn…] by Prof. Tadeusz Sławek and Bez-silna edukacja. O kształceniu kruchego [Power-less education. About educating the fragile] by Krzysztof Maliszewski, PhD, Associate Professor released in 2021 within a University of Silesia Press series Nowa Edukacja [New Education].

The meeting is also related to a new degree programme (offered since the academic year 2020/2021) – Individual Teacher Training Studies, within which the guests conduct classes. The studying model within Individual Teacher Training Studies as well as the accompanying events are an opportunity to discuss current needs and challenges of education and teacher training.

The event will take place on 28 April 2022 at 5.00 p.m. in the conference room in CINIBa at ul. Bankowa 11a in Katowice.

Prof. Tadeusz Sławek, Rector of the University of Silesia in years 1996–2002 and Krzysztof Maliszewski, PhD, Associate Professor will attend the event. The debate will be held by Tomasz Pawlus.

Free entry.
