Katowice will host the 11th EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF2024); the event takes place on 12-15 June 2024 as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024. Organised every two years, the event is one of the biggest platforms for cooperation between the world of science and the socio-economic environment.

ESOF2024 will be held in the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The theme for the event is: Life changes science.

Katowice will become a hub for Europe’s and the world’s leading personalities in the world of science, academic researchers, representatives of public and non-public institutions supporting science, businesspeople, representatives of media, and those interested in the role of science in the contemporary world.

The programme includes lectures, seminars, a debate, workshops, poster presentations and exhibitions, interactive sessions and a wide array of public engagement forms.

ESOF2024 is centred around six main areas corresponding to the biggest challenges science is currently facing: These are:

  1. Energy Transition,
  2. Sustainable Environment,
  3. Cultural Identity and Societal Transformation,
  4. Changes Within Scientific Excellence,
  5. Healthy Societies,
  6. Digital Transformation.

ESOF is an initiative by EuroScience, the European Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology, a non-profit organisation associating scientists from all over Europe. The conference is organised by: EuroScience, Rectors of the universities forming the Academic Consortium Katowice – City of Science and the City of Katowice.

We have launched a dedicated website where you can find the news and conference programme. Through the website, you can contact the event organisers and register your speeches. You can also subscribe to the newsletter.
