On Thursday, 22 May 2025 at 5.30 p.m., at the Światowid studio cinema (ul. 3 Maja 7, Katowice), a screening of the film Wisdom of Happiness (USA, Switzerland; 90 minutes) combined with a discussion will take place. The event is organised as part of the ‘Film meetings with psychology’ series.
This film by Swiss-born directors Barbara Miller and Philip Delaquis combines the Dalai Lama’s intriguing story with beautiful images that illustrate his message and previously unseen footage from the Tibetan government archives. The protagonist of the documentary talks about the challenges that await us in the 21st century, convincing viewers that each of us has the tools to face them. The film is a meditative cinematic experience that explores the philosophy of the 14th Dalai Lama. In an intimate conversation, the man seen as the greatest ambassador of compassion takes viewers on a journey to the source of happiness.
The discussion will be led by Agnieszka Skorupa, PhD from the Institute of Psychology of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
