The Forum will be an opportunity to summarise the year of celebrations of Katowice as the European City of Science 2024 and discuss the lasting effects that we will develop in the region. During the meeting, it will be possible to participate in discussions and define recommendations for the future formula of the City of Science.
Who can participate?
All people who consider themselves residents in the City of Science. The meeting is open to the public, but registration for the event is required. Participation in discussions on the five key themes of the City of Science requires selecting a specific theme in the registration system.
In addition to all interested residents, users, media representatives, and the academic community, representatives of the ECSK organisers, including those responsible for scientific, educational, and organisational matters, and people involved in any way in the year of celebrations and the lasting effects of the ECSK, are particularly invited to participate.

- presentation of the most important data,
- presentation of the publication summarising the year of celebrations,

- Green Science Zone
- Network Science Centre

Session entitled ‘5 important questions about the Science City’
Session with the participation of decision-makers and the opportunity to ask additional questions on a given topic:
- Inter-university cooperation – the discussion in this group will focus on the question: what are the further plans for cooperation under the Academic Consortium – Katowice City of Science?
- Scientific research – participants in this group will answer the question: why does Silesia need a Scientific Programme?
- Care for the natural environment – the aim of this group will be to reflect on the question: will the Green Science Zone be created?
- The voice of young people in the region – the discussion in this group will focus on the question: do young people in Silesia see opportunities for a good future in the region?
- Science as a tool for social dialogue – participants will work on the question: what will the Network Science Centre be?

Cooperation forum
We invite you to participate in group discussions on five key themes for the future of the City of Science: cooperation, scientific research, responsibility for the natural environment, education and living conditions in the region, and science as a tool for social dialogue. The activities will take the form of open consultations.
The meetings will be held as moderated focus sessions, which will enable a free exchange of opinions, identification of problems, and joint development of recommendations. Participation in the teams will be possible after prior registration – the number of places is limited, which will ensure comfortable working conditions and a high level of discussion.
