On 26 October 2022, at 3.00 p.m. the fifth Champions Gala will be held. The event will take place at the lecture hall of the Rectorate of the University of Silesia. The Champions Gala serves as the opportunity to award USil’s best athletes, medallists of the Polish Academic Championship. Additionally, during the event, badges of the University Sports Association are also awarded to distinguished players and activists associated with our University and the club.
During the event, 69 Polish Academic Championship medalists will be awarded along with the coaches who trained them. The winners include individual and team medalists from such disciplines as: futsal, sports aerobics, badminton, horse riding, WKF karate, athletics, skiing, swimming, beach volleyball, shooting sports, chess and tennis.
The greatest success of the last season was the results of our competitors in horse riding – for the first time since we were the organisers of a competition in this discipline, our team won the gold medal. The awarded will also include the Polish champion and the Polish representative in the 1,500-metre run, Eliza Megger, and the Polish vice-champion in the 400 metres hurdles, Julia Korzuch. USil University Sports Association’s futsal team, which was promoted to the Futsal Ekstraklasa, will also be awarded.
