20.02.2023 - 12:55, update 24.02.2023 - 15:52
Editors: OO

This year, the official ceremony of the Silesian Scientific Award organised as part of the 6th Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE will be held on 18 March 2023.

During the ceremony, we will get to know the award winners in three categories, i.e. Employee, Doctoral Student, and the Mayor’s Award.

The Silesian Scientific Award is presented to researchers and artists who considerably contribute to the development of science, possess remarkable artistic achievements, and promote Silesian science both nationally and internationally. The award may be granted for overall, lifetime achievements, or for achievements accomplished within two years preceding the year in which the award is presented.

All universities co-organising the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE (ŚFN) present this prestigious award. Each university nominates candidates from the pool of employees and doctoral students in accordance with their internal procedure, and the finalists are selected by the Award Committee. The Award Committee is composed of representatives of the universities co-organising the ŚFN. This year, Katarzyna Katarzyna Mizia-Stec, MD, PhD, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation chairs the Award Committee.
