Ecological Thinking Club: “Defending nature nature is a patriotic act”

The guest of the 70th Ecological Thinking Club will be Katarzyna Jagiełło, an ecologist, translator, traveller, climate activist, biological diversity expert.

The meeting will take place in Siemianowice Śląskie (in the Tradition Park). The organisers have planned a broadcast via Facebook and YouTube channel. The guest will be interviewed by Prof. Piotr Skubała from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, an ecologist, acarologist, environmental ethicist, environmental educator, activist for climate and nature protection; and Ryszard Kulik, PhD, from the Workshop for All Beings, a psychologist, environmental activist, psychological training coach, ecophilosopher focused on deep ecology, author of books and articles dedicated to human-nature relation.

Katarzyna Jagiełło is one of the most important figures of the protests in Białowieża Forest. She led the campaign for pollinating insects’ protection, co-creator of the “Adopt a Bee” campaign. One of the most influential women in Poland in 2016, one of the boldest in 2018. Engaged in the protection of seas and oceans, a diving instructor, translator. A graduate of the Leadership Academy for Poland and the School of Political Leadership. A member of the Council for Organic Farming at the Polish Agricultural Ministry in 2014-2018. A former Greenpeace frontwoman, currently engaged in the Szymon Hołownia’s Polska2050 movement.

The meeting is organised by: the Ecological Thinking Club, Metropolis GZM, and the University of Silesia in Katowice.
