It is a series of free-of-charge webinars and interactive meetings aiming at the exchange of views, opinions, and ideas in a group of people implementing and responsible for the education of children and adolescents.

- 27 March, 4.30 p.m.: ‘Świadoma komunikacja z uczniem w sytuacji trudnych doświadczeń’ [Conscious communication with a student who experienced hardships] – Dorota Prysak, PhD
Communication is one of the basic skills needed in life. It is indispensable when working with students who experienced hardships, incl. migration and refugeeism. We will ask the question of how we can improve the quality of this relationship. How can we learn and discover their emotions and needs? The lecture is to pay attention to the real thoughts and feelings of students and decode the signals of their non-verbal communication. We will also wonder about how to consciously use body language to improve our communication. - 29 March, 4.30 p.m.: ‘Relacje ponad racje. O budowaniu relacji ponad różnicami’ [Relations over being right. About building relations beyond differences] – Monika Szczepanik
What are the components of communication that both parties find constructive? What stands in the way of hearing someone and being heard? How to create the space for dialogue despite differences? How can differences (of experience, age, roles, positions) support us in communication? We will try to find answers to these questions—but not only—through Nonviolent Communication.

‘Duets of Power’ is a series of two two-hour online meetings conducted by experts in education and methodology. The series is organised by the Open University at the University of Silesia and the City of Katowice. The project will be carried out from March to December 2023. The meetings are financed with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
