InterNanoPoland 2026 Conference | Nanotechnology and advanced materials

10.09.2026 - 14:23, update 11.09.2026 - 14:51
Editors: OO

The tenth edition of the InterNanoPoland 2026 international scientific and business conference will take place on 14–15 October 2026 in Katowice. The event will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, technology start-ups, investors and institutions supporting the development and commercialisation of innovations in the field of nanotechnology and advanced materials.

The conference is organised by the NANONET Foundation for the Support of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the Silesian Nano Cluster – the National Key Cluster – organisations working to develop the nanotechnology and advanced materials sector, foster cooperation and integrate the scientific and industrial communities in Poland. For many years, InterNanoPoland has provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge, the presentation of new technologies and the development of cooperation between science and industry.

The partners for this year’s edition are the University of Silesia in Katowice, Łukasiewicz – Institute of Renewable Resources Chemistry, and BREC Solutions.

International experts and representatives from the scientific community

The InterNanoPoland 2026 programme will feature presentations by experts representing European scientific, research and technological communities. The announced speakers include:

  • Eva Kathrin Schillinger, PhD – Innovative Advanced Materials Initiative (IAM-I),
  • Dorota Bartczak, PhD Eng – National Measurement Laboratory at LGC (United Kingdom),
  • Sebastian Schwaminger, PhD – NanoMedicine-Austria,
  • Anna Bajorek, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof. – University of Silesia in Katowice,
  • Ladislav Torčík, MSc Eng – NanoTrade (Czech Republic).

The speakers will share their knowledge and experience regarding the development of advanced materials and nanotechnology, research methods, technological applications and the challenges associated with their further development and implementation.

Conference programme

Nanotechnology and advanced materials are of vital importance to the development of the modern economy. They enable the creation of more efficient batteries and energy systems, new diagnostic and therapeutic methods, more durable structures, smart coatings and sensors, as well as energy-efficient electronics. They also support the development of a circular economy and help reduce dependence on critical raw materials.

The conference programme will focus on solutions with clearly defined applications, examples of collaboration with industry, pilot projects and technologies with the potential for further scaling and implementation.

In addition to lectures and panel discussions, the programme includes:

  • a poster session entitled ‘Research and Technology for the Development of the Nanotechnology Industry’, during which researchers and specialists will be able to present their research, technologies and achievements;
  • workshops organised in cooperation with Anton Paar Poland, a leading manufacturer of laboratory and research equipment;
  • a workshop entitled ‘From Conversation to Project’ using the Design Thinking methodology, during which participants will jointly analyse needs, design solutions and develop ideas for collaboration.

A particularly valuable aspect of the conference will be the opportunity for direct dialogue between technology developers and their potential users. Building bridges between science and business enables better identification of market needs, accelerates knowledge transfer and reduces barriers on the path from research results to a product, service or industrial process.

Cooperation between universities, research institutes and businesses also fosters the creation of new inventions, patents, R&D projects and investment in innovative technologies.
