The University of Silesia in Katowice is organising a conference in celebration of the 5th anniversary of the University Laboratories for Atmosphere Control (ULAC), which conducts comprehensive air quality research. The most important element of the research is the unique mobile laboratory installed in the basket of a manned hot-air balloon, which enables accurate analysis of pollutant concentrations and migration.
Thanks to financial support from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice, the laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art air quality testing equipment.
The conference will take place on 6 September 2022 in the Kazimierz Lepszy Lecture Hall in the Rectorate of the University of Silesia in Katowice at ul. Bankowa 12.
Programme:
- 10 a.m. – 11.15 a.m. — welcome speech by Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, Rector of the University of Silesia Professor,
- 11.15 a.m. – 12 p.m. (noon) — commemorative speeches by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice, and the ACTRIS consortium in Poland,
- 12 p.m. – 12.15 p.m. — coffee break,
- 12.15 p.m. – 1.15 p.m. — paper presentation of achievements achieved to date and plans for further development of ULAC mobile laboratories,
- 1.15 p.m. – 2 p.m. — refreshments.
During the conference, there will be an opportunity to see the equipment of overhead mobile laboratory.
