On Monday, 6 December 2021 at 5.00 p.m. at the main entrance of the Silesian Library at the Plac Rady Europy 1 in Katowice, there will be the official unveiling of the memorial plaque commemorating Prof. Krzysztof Uniłowski.
Prof. Krzysztof Uniłowski was an employee of the Institute of Polish Literature Studies of the University of Silesia in Katowice, and the Vice-Rector for Education and Students at the Faculty of Humanities. He was an academic lecturer, literary scholar, literary critic, co-founder and multi-annual editor of the FA-art literary quarterly and Śląskie Studia Polonistyczne, the author of three volumes of dissertations and three literary criticism books, the winner of the Kazimierz Wyka Award and Ludwik Fryde Award, as well as the Chair of the Teodor Parnicki Literary Association.
After the ceremony, in the Parnassos Hall, there will be a discussion regarding literary criticism and theoretical works of the late Prof. Krzysztof Unitowski. It will feature the Rector of the University of Silesia, Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, Prof. Joanna Orska from the University of Wroclaw, and Michał Kłosiński, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor from the Institute of Literary Studies. The moderator of the meeting will be Joanna Soćko, PhD.
