The 28th Geographic Information Systems Conference and Exhibition “GIS Odyssey 2021” will take place online on 6-7 September 2021. The aim of “GIS Odyssey 2021” is to familiarise participants with the issues of spatial information and the use of GIS systems in, among others: archeology, cultural heritage and environment protection, spatial planning and sustainable development, medicine, smart cities and smart villages.
The University of Silesia has been involved in organising the conference since 1994. This year, for the first time, the organiser of the conference is the Croatian-Polish Scientific Network (CPSN), which seeks to formalise cooperation, create a forum for interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and experience, implement joint scientific initiatives, integrate the scientific and professional community, exchange scientific and organisational information, carry out bilateral and international research projects, and improve the scientific cooperation between Croatia and Poland.
