“Champions Debate: Education for the Climate” – 2nd Edition of Master Lectures

Interdisciplinary Centre for Research on Humanist Education at the University of Silesia in Katowice and Department of Slavic Languages at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Palacký University Olomouc are co-organising the 2nd edition of Master Lectures entitled “Champions Debate: Education for the Climate”. This is another meeting as part of “V4 Humanities Education for the Climate. Diagnoses – Best Practices – Recommendations” project. The goal of the event is to introduce the problems of climate change, and reformulate the tasks of contemporary humanities in V4 countries and around the world. The meeting will be held on MS Teams platform.

The debate will be attended by authors and specialists in the field of environmental humanities and education for climate: Julia Fiedorczuk-Glinecka, PhD, DLitt (University of Warsaw) and Filip Springer, reporter and photographer – founders of the first School of Ecopoetics in Poland, as well as Magdalena Steciąg, PhD, DLitt, Associate professor of the University of Zielona Góra, who specialises in ecological discourse. The University of Silesia will be represented by Rector, Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, who is also the host of the meeting.

The event will be opened by Ivana Dobrotová, PhD, Dlitt, Associate Professor, Head of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Department of Slavonic Studies at the Palacký University Olomouc.

Participation in the event is free-of-charge. You can register by sending an e-mail to: rejestracjaV4@us.edu.pl, stating your first name and surname, as well as affiliation with one of the following groups: student, doctoral student, academic, teacher. You can register until 5 May 2021. Every applicant will receive the link to the meeting.

On request, the participants may receive a certificate of participation in the 2nd edition of master lectures.
