If you want to find out what really happened in the Upper Silesia in 1919–1921, read the book written by Prof. Ryszard Kaczmarek, and join the second meeting under the Scientific Premiere Stage. The event will be held online on 17 December at 6 PM at the Centre for Scientific Information and Academic Library (CINIBA) in Katowice. Our guest will be Prof. Ryszard Kaczmarek from the Institute of History at the University of Silesia, author of the book entitled “Powstania śląskie 1919-1920-1921. Nieznana wojna polsko-niemiecka” (Silesian Uprisings 1919-1920-1921. Unknown Polish-German War), which has been awarded in the Polityka Historical Awards competition.
The book describes what happened in this land during the early years of the 20th century. The author refers to the Silesian Uprisings as “undeclared Polish-German war”, and goes on to explain the mechanisms of insurrection operations and course of historic events.
The reviewers, including Prof. Włodzimierz Borodziej from the University of Warsaw, emphasize that Prof. Ryszard Kaczmarek’s book is not only brave and historically reliable, but also written in an accessible language. The meeting will be hosted by Jarosław Juszkiewicz – journalist of Polskie Radio Katowice, ambassador of Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE and graduate of the University of Silesia.
