Faculty of Arts and Educational Science of the University of Silesia is organising the 13th international scientific conference entitled “Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Distance Learning” – DLCC2021. The topic of this year’s online meeting will be “E-learning in COVID-19 pandemic time”. The patronage over the conference was taken by Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, Rector of the University of Silesia.

The event will present the current state of research on the advantages and disadvantages of e-learning at all levels of education. The topics of available IT tools that are still being developed and serve as teaching aids will also be discussed at the conference.

The aim of the conference is to look at the challenges of e-learning and to try to find answers to still unresolved issues, incl. the effectiveness of e-learning in developing key competences or the effectiveness of modern tools in distance learning. Theoretical and methodological issues of e-learning at various stages of education will also be discussed, with a distinction between humanities and natural and methodological subjects. The conference will also be an opportunity to reflect on the ethical and formal and legal aspects of distance learning and the help available in the therapy and education of students with disabilities. An important point of the meeting will also be the topic of international cooperation in projects creating a common information and educational space
