The first Science in the City Festival is to take place on 13 June 2024 in the International Congress Centre. The event is organised within the EuroScience Open Forum 2024 (ESOF2024).
European Science in the City Festival is a series of initiatives within the city space, intended to present the results of research and development projects supported by the European Commission to a wide audience, including the Horizon Europe programme, particularly those implemented by the Silesian scientists.
Green Growth Ahead
During the European Science in the City Festival, you can take part in a seminar entitled ‘Green Growth Ahead Innovations in energy, ICT and Green Transport’ organised by the Horizontal Contact Point South-Western Poland coordinated by the Silesian University of Technology and the National Centre for Research and Development.
The participants will have a chance to listen to speeches by representatives of the European Commission’s European Research Executive Agency, the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the Director of the National Centre for Research and Development’s National Contact Point, and representatives of universities and institutes delivered on the topics of priority actions in energy industry, ICT, and green transport.
Listeners will have a chance to acquire information about the possibilities of financial support for R&D activities from regional, national and European funds (including the Horizon Europe Programme), and network and find potential R&D partners among participants from Poland and abroad. The seminar will be accompanied by a presentation of R&D projects underway in the region, carried out in international consortia, and financed by Framework Programmes Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.
