The next edition of the “Aware University of Silesia” campaign will start soon. The subject of the series will concern issues related to diversity. The new edition will start on 17 November 17 2022 during the International Congress on Education Quality.

We encourage members of the academic community to participate in meetings held at the seat of the Silesian Museum in Katowice.

Event programme for 17 November 2022:

1.30 p.m.–3.30 p.m. – on-site lectures

  • Roderick Vassallo – “Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Support at the University of Malta Junior College”

Roderick Vassallo – Vice-Principal at the University of Malta Junior College will present the processes involved in the setting up and the running of structures and services at Junior College to promote and support diversity, equality and inclusion.  The presentation will explore the structure and functioning of the Student Wellbeing & Support Committee and the Diversity Committee. During the meeting, the “Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Policy” introduced this academic year at Junior College will also be discussed;

  • Agnieszka Bielska-Brodziak, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor (University of Silesia) – “Equality and Diversity as Values in the Academic World”.

 

3.30 p.m.–5 p.m. – on-site lectures

  • Jolanta Jastrząb, PhD, DLitt (Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice), Prof. Katarzyna Krasoń (University of Silesia) – “Art, Science and Therapy: The Coexistence of Disciplines in the Service of Uncommon people”;
  • Justyna Lauer, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor (Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice), Anna Machwic, PhD (Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice) – “Universal Design – Works of Students of the Illustration and Information Studio”.

The “Aware University of Silesia. Diversity” campaign is carried out as part the “DUO – University of Silesia – available, universal and open” project, which is co-funded under Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development for 2014-2020, Action 3.5 Complex programmes for universities.
